Human Resources Manager

Atkore International is an industry leader in the manufacture of galvanized steel tubes and pipes, electrical conduit, armored wire and cable, metal framing systems and building components; serving a wide range of construction, electrical, fire and security, mechanical and automotive applications.
Atkore International is currently searching for an experienced Human Resources Manager for our Cable Solutions Business Unit. The position is located in New Bedford, MA. The successful candidate will report to the Director of HR for our Cable Solutions Business Unit.
The selected candidate will be the site Human Resources Manager for two local locations and will perform a variety of Human Resources functions by delivering high quality support and leadership in a demanding and fast paced environment. This position will lead recruitment and retention related activities, deliver onboarding for new hires, guide employees through benefit inquiries, lead and support employee engagement and alignment, lead participate in the labor and employee relations activities, support corporate policies and make appropriate recommendations for necessary addendums to comply with State law.

ESSENTIAL
Responsibilities:
Recruit, interview, and select employees to provide a timely flow of qualified applicants to all departments. Develop innovative ways of sourcing talent in a competitive labor market.
Manage a robust Onboarding and Immersion process for new employees.
Manage Labor and Employee Relations, (grievance processing, participate in labor negotiations etc.).
Operate as an internal consultant to management in the identification, development, and implementation of business processes that will engage and align the work force with business strategies and objectives while focusing on core company values and competencies
Champion rewards and recognition initiatives from design to delivery
Consult with managers and supervisors on absenteeism, turnover and workforce data and take actions where necessary
Manage and make suggestions to improve HR processes and procedures
Maintain objectivity and act as an employee advocate where necessary
Monitor for and ensure compliance with Federal and State Regulations concerning employment laws (Anti- discrimination/EEO/AAP/ ADA/FMLA etc.)
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environmental, health and safety, and maintaining company regulatory compliance records.
Requirements
BS/BA in a related field (Masters level degree is a plus) A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar position Experience in an organized labor setting is required. COMMUNICATIONS: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to conduct new employee onboarding and orientation programs Bilingual (English/Portuguese) is a plus REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to: Director, Human Resources FREQUENT INTERACTION WITH: Internal customers such as hourly operations employees, Operations Leadership, Production Supervisors and Payroll Organized labor representatives Education: Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related field strongly preferred Work
Experience: 5 years' experience supporting a fast paced manufacturing (or similar) environment supporting a diverse, bilingual workforce in a Human Resources role that includes labor relations responsibilities SPHR/PHR is a plus Outstanding skills in all of Microsoft Office Suite Must be able to work under tight timelines and meet multiple, sometimes competing commitments MOST IMPORTANT SUCCESS FACTORS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: The vision to inspire others and the capacity to understand an organization's strengths & weaknesses. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
