Payroll Specialist SUMMARY This position is responsible for all aspects of payroll processing and reporting for both exempt and nonexempt employees in multiple states.
Essential Functions:
Process bi-weekly payroll for 6 different states (Company Codes), both exempt and non- exempt and additional payrolls as requested.
Must be flexible on short payroll notice requests.
Contact states to set up unemployment and tax ID when needed.
Set up Time Off Policies and allotments to new employees.
Create annual Vacation Polices and update holiday schedule in ADP.
Handle state and federal liens, garnishments, etc.
and notify ADP.
Ad hoc reports for CFO, Finance, HR as requested.
Compile payroll data and documents as requested for Workers Comp and 401(k) annual audits.
Bi-Weekly 401(k) payroll contribution data Download and maintain files on-line for quick reference (ex.
W-2s, Quarterly 941s, Final Master Control's) Provide support to Finance Dept:
expense reports, hours reports, etc.
Provide support for miscellaneous company events and programs.
Assist as day-to-day payroll resource for employees regarding questions, concerns, changes, etc.
Provide policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
Maintain HR files and documentation Other tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma required.
Associate degree in Business or other discipline preferred.
Minimum of 4 years' experience with payroll.
High level of attention to detail required.
Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality of all payroll and HR files and records.
Ability to work under stringent timeframes.
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment a plus.
Experienced in a payroll /HRIS system required, preferably ADP Workforce Now Proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook Ability to work independently and in a team environment while adapting to changing priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
